Strauss & Schubert Dress Rehearsal
March 29, 2025 · 1:30 p.m.

Join the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra for a working dress rehearsal of the Strauss & Schubert program. We will work to polish each piece, with adjustments to nuance, balance and blend. Many pieces will be played in their entirety, and certain sections will be retouched with starts and stops.

The rehearsal features Pensacola native and Nashville Symphony Orchestra Principal Oboist Titus Underwood returning home to perform Richard Strauss’ Oboe Concerto. Underwood, who has played with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, is the first Black oboist to receive tenure as a principal player in a major U.S. orchestra. The program also includes Strauss’ Serenade for Winds and Franz Schubert’s Ninth Symphony, “The Great.”

General admission tickets are $10 and may be purchased prior to the day of the event by phone at 850.435.2533, online at PensacolaSymphony.com, or in person at the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra office, 205 East Zaragoza Street. Tickets will be available on the day of the event at the door. Doors will open at 1 p.m.
